Crypto Billionaires Suffered Major Losses in 2025, Except for One Person – Here’s How Much CZ and Saylor Lost in 2025

According to Bloomberg Billionaires Index data, leading figures in the cryptocurrency sector experienced significant losses in their wealth in 2025.

The report noted that the “flash crash” seen in the crypto market in October played a decisive role in these losses.

Accordingly, Michael Saylor’s net worth decreased by $2.6 billion in the last 12 months, falling to $3.8 billion. According to Bloomberg’s analysis, Strategy’s Bitcoin treasury strategy provided strong returns until Bitcoin reached new highs in early October. However, the sharp price pullback caused Strategy shares to fall by more than 50% from their peak. During this period, Saylor’s net worth also eroded by approximately $6 billion compared to its peak.

The report also noted that Gemini founders, the Winklevoss brothers, and Binance’s former CEO, Changpeng Zhao, were negatively impacted by the sharp market downturn in October. According to Bloomberg data, CZ’s net worth has declined by approximately 5 percent since January 1, 2025 (around $50.9 billion), while the Winklevoss brothers’ wealth has fallen by 59 percent over the same period.

However, Bloomberg reported that globally, billionaires added approximately $2.2 trillion in new wealth in 2025; 25% of this increase was provided by just eight people. It was noted that billionaires in the crypto sector lagged significantly behind the overall picture.

On the other hand, Circle CEO Jeremy Allaire stands out as an exceptional example. Allaire’s net worth has reportedly increased by approximately 149% since June 4th, positively impacted by the GENIUS Act regarding stablecoin payments in the US.
