According to The Block, the Banana Gun team announced that they are investigating the claims of a user wallet breach and have shut down the platform until further notice.
During the day, some community members reported that wallets associated with the Telegram bot Banana Gun had been compromised and assets drained.
“It looks like there's about 563 ETH ($1.4 million) stolen on the mainnet so far, and 36 victims. I can't say Banana Gun itself was hacked, there's not enough evidence,” community member X, who goes by the handle yannickcrypto.eth, wrote in a post.
The Banana Gun team then took action and said in a statement on Telegram, “We are investigating the issue, the bot is currently offline.”
While the Telegram Bot project has raised concerns among Banana Gun users, experts are warning users to be careful when using Banana Gun.
The price of Banana Gun (BANANA) listed on Binance dropped by 4% following the news.
