Uniswap, one of the largest decentralized cryptocurrency exchanges, has announced a 0.15% fee for certain altcoins when traded through its native web UI and mobile wallet.

Affected cryptocurrencies include ETH, USDC, WETH, USDT, DAI, WBTC, agEUR, GUSD, LUSD, EUROC and XSGD.

This fee was introduced as a means to support Uniswap Labs' ongoing development efforts. It is important to note that the fee in question does not benefit UNI token holders, but goes directly to Uniswap Labs.

Uniswap Founder Hayden Adams stated that this fee was introduced as part of their commitment to creating sustainable systems to power their work. He emphasized that this move is separate from the Uniswap Protocol fee key determined by the UNI token management.

Adams expressed that he is proud of Uniswap Labs' contributions to increasing access value and ownership by removing intermediaries. He reiterated that he believes in the positive impact of crypto on the world.

Fee implementation will start from tomorrow.
