Coinbase, one of the largest cryptocurrency exchanges in the world, has announced that it will remove some trading pairs for certain assets supported on its platform.
The exchange said the decision was taken to consolidate liquidity and improve the trading experience for its clients.
According to the announcement, the following markets will be suspended at or around 19:00 CEST on 27 June 2023:
- BNT-GBP (Bancor Network Token – British Pound)
- BTRST-GBP (Braintrust – British Pound)
- CLV-GBP (Clover Finance – British Pound)
- DDX-EUR (DerivaDAO – Euro)
- ERN-EUR (Ethernity Chain – Euro)
- MEDIA-USDT (Media Network – Tether)
- TRB-BTC (Tellor – Bitcoin)
To consolidate liquidity, we will be removing a number of trading pairs for certain supported assets.
We will suspend trading on the following markets on or around 9AM PT on 27 June 2023:
BNT-GBP, BTRST-GBP, CLV-GBP, DDX-EUR, ERN-EUR, MEDIA-USDT, & TRB-BTC

It should be noted that these altcoins will continue to be traded on the Coinbase cryptocurrency exchange in other trading pairs.
Cryptocurrency exchange Coinbase was recently exposed to a lawsuit filed by the SEC, and the SEC claimed that the company had sold a large number of security tokens on its exchange. Similarly, the US branch of the Binance exchange was accused of unregistered selling securities and mixing client assets with company assets.
