Coinbase and Surprise Altcoin Announce Joint Artificial Intelligence Initiative

A group of leading cryptocurrency and blockchain firms, including Coinbase and NEAR Protocol (NEAR), have announced the formation of the Open Agents Alliance (OAA). The coalition aims to foster the development of open artificial intelligence (AI) services by leveraging shared infrastructure and resources.

OAA brings together key participants from across the blockchain and AI sectors, including Coinbase’s payments and AI divisions, NEAR AI, and other key industry participants. The initiative focuses on ensuring AI technologies remain secure, open-source, affordable, and accessible to all.

As part of their collaboration, the participating organizations will contribute resources such as AI tool frameworks and cloud hosting capabilities. These shared tools and infrastructures are expected to accelerate the creation and deployment of innovative AI applications and strengthen the principles of decentralization and transparency in the AI ecosystem.

By uniting AI development efforts, the Open Agents Alliance aims to provide a more equitable technological environment while integrating AI with blockchain advancements.
