Kamala Harris, currently considered the strongest candidate for President in the United States, has pledged to support the growth of artificial intelligence and digital assets as president.
Vice President Kamala Harris, the Democratic nominee for the upcoming presidential election, addressed the cryptocurrency sector for the first time during a Wall Street fundraiser in Manhattan, according to Bloomberg.
In her speech, Harris said she was committed to encouraging innovation in technologies such as artificial intelligence and digital assets, while ensuring the protection of consumers and investors.
Harris referenced her vision of an “opportunity economy,” in which she aims to bring together workforces, small businesses, founders, innovators and large corporations to collaborate to invest in America’s future and competitiveness. She told attendees that her administration will encourage innovation in technologies like artificial intelligence and cryptocurrency, but that “consistent and transparent rules of the road” will be implemented to maintain a safe business environment.
Bloomberg reporter Jennifer Epstein, who was present at the event, quoted Harris as saying: “We will promote innovative technologies like artificial intelligence and digital assets while protecting consumers and investors.”
