BNB Smart Chain, the blockchain of the world's largest crypto exchange Binance, faced a hacking event towards the end of 2022.
Binance, which attaches more importance to security after this event, announced that it is preparing for the hard fork called "Planck", which focuses on security.
In its blog post, Binance stated that the BNB Smart Chain mainnet is preparing for a planned hard fork upgrade called "Planck".
The Planck hard fork is scheduled to take place on April 12, 2023 at 05:30 UTC.
The BNB Chain team said that this upgrade will bring more enhanced security to the BNB Smart Chain network.
“This upgrade offers several security enhancements for the cross-chain bridge between BNB Beacon Chain and BNB Smart Chain.
Through the Plank upgrade, BNB Chain plans to improve the security, efficiency and interoperability of its blockchain network.”
The BNB Chain team finally told all participants to prepare for this upgrade to ensure a smooth transition to the upcoming Planck upgrade.
The team advised the mainnet validators and full node operators to update their software versions to the latest v1.1.21 before April 12 to enable the hard fork.
