Last January, the SEC opened a new door for BTC by approving spot Bitcoin ETFs. At this point many new institutional investors began gaining exposure to Bitcoin through ETFs.
At this point, while analysts stated that many banks are still not exposed to ETFs, the BTC move came from BNY Mellon, the oldest bank in the USA.
In a filing to the SEC, BNY Mellon said it invested in BlackRock and Grayscale Bitcoin ETFs.
