The German government has been selling large amounts of Bitcoin in recent weeks, negatively affecting the price.
The sales pressure from Mt.Gox refunds combined with the sales of the German government resulted in a sharp decline in the BTC price.
While the decline in BTC price affected the entire market, a German MP called on the government to stop Bitcoin sales.
German MP Joana Cotar called on the German government to stop selling its Bitcoin, claiming that these sales had a negative impact on the Bitcoin price and the market.
Cotar added that he informed CDU deputy chairman Michael Kretschmer, Federal Finance Minister Christian Lindner and Chancellor Olaf Scholz about the negative effects of these sales.
Emphasizing the benefits of Bitcoin as a diversification tool and inflation protection tool, Cotar also invited the officials in question to a conference with Bitcoin advocate Samson Mow to be held on October 17.

Joana Cotar and Bitcoin Perspective!
Cotar, the creator of the “Bitcoin in the Federal Assembly (Bundestag)” initiative, is a staunch Bitcoin advocate.
Cotar describes Bitcoin in the Bundestag as: a non-partisan initiative that I launched as a non-partisan member of Parliament, as part of my mission to offer politicians and citizens a comprehensive perspective on the world of Bitcoin.
Cotar argues that Bitcoin is the discovery of a unique resource that has the potential to bring lasting, positive change to citizen sovereignty and our economic and financial systems.
He argues that BTC enables secure, fast and affordable transactions across borders and offers tremendous opportunities for innovation and economic growth.
