Binance Labs, the venture capital arm of Binance, invested $3.15 million in Open Campus, a community-run Web3 education platform that tokenizes educational content by allowing creators to monetize the content they publish.
Binance Labs Invests in Open Campus to Improve Educational Content Production
This investment aims to onboard new users to Web3 and attract more local users to participate in education through the launch of new Publisher NFTs, which increase the earning potential of creators and provide revenue sharing for co-owners.
Open Campus provides scalable infrastructure to engage a diverse ecosystem of adopters including schools, edtech, and brands to serve as a gateway bringing potentially millions of educational content creators and students worldwide to Web3.
Open Campus invented and launched Publisher NFTs, which allow Web3 users to participate by supporting creators and earn a share of revenue in return.
Revenue from creators will be stored in smart contracts from which co-owners can withdraw money based on their contributions.
Additionally, Publisher NFTs issued by Open Campus adopters will be available for purchase and sale on the Marketplace.
Binance Co-Founder and Head of Binance Labs Yi He commented:
“Open Campus motivates the production of high-quality educational content by applying Web3 tokenomics and technology to education.
At Binance Labs, we are actively researching and investing in projects that will facilitate widespread adoption of Web3. The high-potential education sector stands out as a key sector for engaging users in Web3.”
