After the popularity and use of cryptocurrencies has increased, some countries have a positive attitude towards the crypto industry, while some countries prefer prohibitive regulation.
One of the countries that went to the path of prohibition was Belarus.
In this regard, Belarus announced that it is working on a bill that would ban cryptocurrency transactions between individuals.
According to this bill, citizens in Belarus will be allowed to trade cryptocurrencies only through official exchanges in the name of transparency and tighter control.
In the announcement, the following statements were made regarding the draft that the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Belarus is working on:
“The Belarusian Ministry of Internal Affairs is working on a bill that will ban the exchange of cryptocurrencies between individuals.
For transparency and tighter control, citizens will be allowed to conduct such financial transactions only through official exchanges.
The introduction of a practice similar to the currency exchange procedure and some restrictions will make it impossible for cryptocurrency fraudsters to withdraw criminally obtained money.”
