Ava Labs Founder Prof. Dr. Emin Gün Sirer explained that the most fundamental feature that distinguishes the newly announced Avalanche (AVAX) ETF from other cryptocurrency ETFs is that it actively includes the “staking” process.

The Avalanche ETF launch differs from existing products on the market. Professor Dr. Emin Gün Sirer, a guest on Bloomberg HT, shared details of this new investment vehicle announced by VanEck.

Sirer stated that traditional ETFs offer investors the ability to own crypto assets without having to set up wallets or deal with complex transactions. However, he emphasized that what makes the Avalanche ETF special is that it is not merely a passive investment vehicle. This ETF actively contributes to the security of the network by using its AVAX tokens in staking operations.

Sirer, noting that the new product was launched by VanEck, a well-established Wall Street firm, said, “The Avalanche ETF has a unique aspect that sets it apart from all other crypto ETFs; it includes staking. This gives American investors the right to both enhance the security of the network and benefit from this process.”

Speaking about interest in ETFs and future market share expectations, Sirer argued that the success of such financial instruments should be measured by long-term performance, not initial data. He stated that it takes time for investors to add these assets to their portfolios, and despite global risks and macroeconomic developments, he believes cryptocurrency and Avalanche will remain relevant in the long term.
