Apple has removed crypto apps from the App Store in India.
The move comes less than two weeks after these global firms were accused of operating illegally in the country.
The Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU), an Indian government agency responsible for examining financial transactions, had reported charges against nine crypto firms last month.
FIU alleged that these firms did not comply with India's anti-money laundering rules. Following this, the FIU requested the Indian IT Ministry to block the websites of all nine services in the country.
In addition to Binance and Kraken, applications of Mexc, Kucoin, Huobi, Gate.io, Bittrex and Bitfinex have also been removed from the App Store.
However, Bitstamp, another FIU-designated exchange, continues to operate on the App Store in India.
Although they have been removed from the App Store, these apps are still listed on the Google Play Store in India and their websites are accessible in the country. Apple did not make a statement on the issue.
