Galxe, a leading Web3 credentials and rewards platform, has officially launched the alpha mainnet of its Layer 1 blockchain, Gravity.
The alpha mainnet launch will integrate all of Galxe’s products, including Quest, Compass, Passport, and Galxe Identity Protocol, onto the Gravity chain. The move is expected to provide a “more cohesive experience” for Galxe’s more than 25 million active users, according to the company.
The Gravity blockchain is built on a proof-of-stake architecture using the Arbitrum Nitro stack. Compatible with the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM), it uses Reth as the execution layer. The blockchain also uses the Jolteon (AptosBFT) consensus algorithm, which is expected to provide high throughput and near-instant finality.
In addition to its technical framework, Gravity will support native staking and retaking protocols via the G token, including platforms such as Babylon and EigenLayer.
The G token will serve as the blockchain's native gas token, driving governance decisions, supporting growth incentives, and enabling payments within the Galxe ecosystem.
