The Kamala Harris campaign has confirmed that they are not directly accepting crypto donations despite claims.
Coinbase CFO Alesia Haas has drawn attention after suggesting that Vice President Kamala Harris’ campaign accepts crypto donations through Coinbase Commerce, a platform for digital payments. Speaking at Citi’s 2024 Global TMT Conference on September 4, Haas said Harris has a significant opportunity to attract voters by endorsing pro-crypto legislation in her 2024 presidential bid. The revelation has led to speculation that the campaign is accepting crypto donations directly.
However, a Harris campaign spokesperson clarified that the campaign itself does not accept crypto donations, but that they are funneled through the Super PAC Future Forward. According to Open Secrets, the political action committee (PAC) has raised over $163 million to support Harris’ run against Republican nominee Donald Trump in 2024.
