Strategy and Coinbase, two leading companies in the cryptocurrency sector, have announced their financial results for the third quarter of 2026. Strategy, founded by Michael Saylor, known for his Bitcoin investments, achieved its highest quarterly operating profit in history, while the US-based cryptocurrency exchange Coinbase managed to maintain its profitability.

Strategy Achieves Record: $21 Billion Operating Profit

According to financial results released by Strategy on October 29, the company achieved its highest quarterly operating profit in history in the third quarter, reaching $20.91 billion. The increase in operating profit from $3.89 billion in the same period last year was primarily driven by accounting gains resulting from the increase in the value of Bitcoin assets.

The company’s net profit for the third quarter was $19.53 billion, while its diluted earnings per share reached $44.75.

Strategy’s Bitcoin reserves also continued to grow. As of October 25, 2026, the amount of Bitcoin held by the company had increased to 848,517 BTC. Thus, the company’s Bitcoin assets have increased by 26 percent since the beginning of the year.

The company purchased $14.33 billion worth of Bitcoin in 2026, bringing its total funding raised from capital markets to $21.23 billion.

Strategy also announced that it had repurchased approximately $2.04 billion worth of STRC preferred shares to strengthen its financial structure, increasing its dollar-denominated assets to $5.07 billion.

Michael Saylor, founder of Strategy, argues that we are at the beginning of a new Bitcoin bull market, noting increased interest from banks in Bitcoin and a resurgence in institutional demand.

Coinbase Announces $719 Million in Net Profit

Coinbase, one of the largest cryptocurrency exchanges in the US, also announced a net profit of $719 million in the third quarter. The company’s adjusted net profit was $78 million, while its adjusted EBITDA reached $333 million.

As a result, Coinbase’s adjusted EBITDA increased by 60 percent compared to the previous quarter, marking the company’s 15th consecutive quarter of positive adjusted EBITDA.

Coinbase’s market share in cryptocurrency trading volume rose to 10.7 percent. This marks the fourth consecutive quarter in which the company has increased its market share.

On the other hand, Coinbase’s growth in the prediction markets sector also attracted attention. The company’s annualized revenue in this area exceeded $200 million, while the number of daily active users increased by over 60 percent on a quarterly basis.

Coinbase One’s paid subscriber count rose 24% year-on-year, reaching a record high. The average amount of USDC held in the company’s products also hit a new peak of $22 billion.

Coinbase’s subscription and services revenue accounted for 49 percent of its total net income in the third quarter. This development demonstrates the company’s progress in its strategy to diversify its revenue streams away from being solely dependent on cryptocurrency trading commissions.
