The privacy-focused cryptocurrency Zcash (ZEC) continues to be a topic of discussion in the cryptocurrency market and is often compared to Bitcoin.

At this point, the latest statements have come from Balaji Srinivasan, former CTO of Coinbase.

Speaking at the TOKEN2049 Singapore event, Balaji Srinivasan pointed to different use cases for Bitcoin and ZEC.

At this point, Srinivasan says that Bitcoin could become the reserve currency of Western institutions, while Zcash would become the currency used by individuals for financial privacy.

Emphasis on Institutional Reserves for Bitcoin, Zcash for Individuals!

According to Srinivasan’s assessment, Bitcoin could assume the role of a reserve currency or reserve asset, particularly for Western institutions seeking to demonstrate solvency and financial soundness.

This approach reinforces the idea that Bitcoin could move beyond being merely a digital asset preferred by individual investors and instead occupy a more significant position in the balance sheet and reserve strategies of institutions.

Srinivasan also pointed out a different cryptocurrency for individual users. According to him, Zcash can be used as a form of money for individuals who want to protect their financial privacy.

Srinivasan also considered ZEC as a shield that could help users regain the financial privacy they have lost. This view is based on the expectation that the privacy-focused technology, one of Zcash’s core features, may become even more important in the future.
