BitMEX founder Arthur Hayes has made a remarkable prediction regarding the price of Ethereum (ETH). In an interview, Hayes stated that if market conditions are favorable, Ethereum could reach $10,000 by the end of the year.
Ethereum was trading at $2,672 when Hayes’ statements came to light. A rise to $10,000 for ETH would represent approximately a 3.7-fold price increase compared to its current level. In other words, for Hayes’ target to be achieved, the price of Ethereum would need to rise by approximately 274% from its current level.
Hayes is known for his bold price predictions for the cryptocurrency market and his analyses of macroeconomic developments. The BitMEX co-founder has previously shared his views on the relationship between global liquidity conditions, monetary policies, and cryptocurrency prices.
Ethereum remains one of the largest cryptocurrencies by market capitalization. Movements in the ETH price are closely watched not only by the overall cryptocurrency market but also by decentralized finance (DeFi), staking, and other blockchain applications operating on Ethereum.
Hayes’s $10,000 prediction is based on the expectation that Ethereum will experience a strong rise in the coming months. However, this level reflects Hayes’s personal market forecast and is not guaranteed to be reached.
ETH’s performance until the end of the year is expected to be determined by factors such as overall risk appetite in the crypto market, global liquidity conditions, and investor demand.
