Cryptocurrency exchange Binance has announced it will support the network upgrade and hard fork process on the Base network. To protect user experience during the upgrade, the exchange will temporarily suspend deposits and withdrawals for tokens on the Base network.
According to an announcement by Binance, token deposits and withdrawals via the Base network will be suspended on September 30, 2026, at approximately 8:00 PM. The upgrade and hard fork on the Base network is scheduled to take place approximately one hour later, around 9:00 PM.
The exchange stated that the temporary suspension of deposit and withdrawal operations will not affect trading activity on the platform. Accordingly, users will be able to continue trading the relevant tokens on Binance during the network upgrade.
Binance also announced that it will manage all the necessary technical requirements for the Base network upgrade and hard fork on behalf of users. Therefore, users will not need to perform any technical actions related to the upgrade.
Network upgrades and hard forks can be implemented in blockchain networks to update the technical infrastructure, introduce new features, or modify existing protocol rules.
Binance will await an assessment of the Base network’s stability following the completion of the upgrade. Once the network is determined to be stable, token deposits and withdrawals on the Base network will be reopened.
The exchange also stated that no separate announcement would be issued regarding the resumption of deposit and withdrawal services.
