The LAPTOP memecoin, launched by Hunter Biden, made headlines after its sharp price drop following its launch. According to data published by Bubblemaps, approximately 80% of participants who bought and sold the token suffered losses, with the company describing the market situation as a “bloodbath.”
According to profit and loss data shared by Bubblemaps, two investors lost between $100,000 and $1 million. Approximately 100 investors lost more than $10,000, and 700 investors lost more than $1,000. In addition, it was stated that approximately 11,000 investors faced smaller losses.

The sharp drop in the price of the LAPTOP token after its launch also attracted the attention of political figures. US President Donald Trump’s son, Eric Trump, retweeted a post about the token’s price collapse, mocking Hunter Biden.
Eric Trump wrote in his post, “Hunter should go back to painting.” The comment was interpreted as a reference to Hunter Biden’s past paintings, which were controversial due to their high sales prices.
In a post reposted by Eric Trump, it was claimed that the LAPTOP token’s price dropped by approximately 98 percent within minutes of its launch. The same post also noted that the project planned to distribute LAPTOP tokens to some investors who lost money on Donald Trump’s TRUMP memecoin.
The LAPTOP project was inspired by Hunter Biden’s “laptop incident,” which dominated US politics in 2020.
