While the income that US President Donald Trump and his family have earned from cryptocurrency investments continues to be debated in the public sphere, a new Reuters/Ipsos poll has revealed some noteworthy results.
According to Reuters, a large majority of Americans believe that Trump’s cryptocurrency earnings are neither legitimate nor justifiable.
According to a poll conducted between August 14-17, 63% of respondents said they found it inappropriate that President Donald Trump and his family earned more than $1.4 billion from cryptocurrency businesses last year.
In contrast, only 32% of participants considered these earnings acceptable, while the rest did not answer the question.
69% of Americans Think They Are Influenced by Trump’s Decisions!
Another notable finding of the Reuters poll was the perception of the relationship between Trump’s private business interests and his presidential decisions.
At this point, 69% of participants believe Trump’s private business interests influence his presidential and policy decisions. Another noteworthy point is that this view is not limited to Democratic voters. Nearly half of Republicans who support Trump also believe the president’s business interests influence his decisions.
White House Denies Allegations!
The White House, however, rejected claims that Trump’s crypto investments conflicted with his presidential duties, stating that his investments were managed by independent financial institutions.
White House spokeswoman Anna Kelly said in a statement, “There is no conflict of interest. The President acts only in the best interests of the American people.”
