The cryptocurrency market experienced a surprisingly large drop over the past week, unlike its usual, but more recent, sideways movement.
Bitcoin is poised to close the week with a 15% loss, while the picture was even worse for altcoins. Ethereum fell by 19%, BNB by 18%, XRP by 14%, Solana by 20%, and Dogecoin by 15%.
The majority of the decline came after strong non-farm payroll data was released in the US on Friday. The strong data was interpreted as a reduced likelihood of a Fed interest rate cut, leading to declines across all markets, including the cryptocurrency market.
