The leading cryptocurrency, Bitcoin (BTC), has been experiencing a surge in recent days, fueled by expectations of a potential agreement from the Middle East. Having recently climbed above $82,000, bearish sentiment has given way to bullish narratives for BTC.
While VanEck is targeting $90,000 for BTC in the short term, they have also revealed their long-term forecast.
According to the VanEck executive, BTC could reach $1 million within 5 years.
Speaking to CNBC, Matthew Sigel, Head of Digital Asset Research at VanEck, predicts that BTC could reach $1 million within the next five years.
Siegel states that his prediction is based on the tendency of young investors to increase their holdings of Bitcoin.
He added that this figure was not a fantasy but a completely achievable and possible scenario.
At this point, Siegel notes that his prediction is similar to that of many others in the market.
Siegel notes that many people, including Bitwise Chief Investment Officer (CIO) Matt Hougan and US President Donald Trump’s son Eric Trump, believe Bitcoin could reach $1 million, even though it is currently around $80,000.
