Bhutan, one of the countries with the most Bitcoin, has previously attracted attention with its BTC sales, but now it has come to the fore with a different move.
Accordingly, Bhutan’s new special administrative region, Gelephu Mindfulness City (GMC), announced its plans to include Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH) and Binance Coin (BNB) in its strategic reserve assets in an official statement.
With this move, Gelephu Mindfulness City became one of the first special administrative regions in the world to hold digital assets in its strategic reserves.
“Bhutan’s new Special Administrative Region, Gelephu Mindfulness City (GMC), today announced its intention to recognize digital assets such as Bitcoin (BTC), Ether (ETH) and BNB as part of its strategic reserves, making the Special Administrative Region (SAR) one of the first jurisdictions to officially hold digital assets as part of its strategic reserves.
The inclusion of digital assets in GMC’s strategic reserves will enhance the SAR’s economic resilience and is an evolution of the jurisdiction’s participation in bitcoin mining.
For its strategic reserves, GMC aims to recognize digital assets with large market capitalizations and deep liquidity to ensure they can be easily bought and sold with minimal price impact.”
