Tokenization platform OpenEden announced that it will launch tokenized US Treasury bills (TBILL) on the XRP Ledger (XRPL).
At this point, XRP Ledger recently partnered with OpenEden to offer tokenized US Treasury bonds and invested $10 million in OpenEden's TBILL tokens as part of a larger fund.
Under the partnership, Treasury bills backed by the Treasury Department will be available as TBILL tokens on XRPL.
RippleX Senior Vice President Markus Infanger emphasized the importance of this development and said:
“Tokenized U.S. Treasury bills demonstrate the potential of real-world assets to drive utility and new opportunities on decentralized platforms.”
OpenEden co-founder Jeremy Ng stated that users will be able to mint TBILL tokens using stablecoins, including the upcoming Ripple USD.
Those issuing TBILL tokens under the partnership will comply with Know Your Customer (KYC) and Anti-Money Laundering (AML) regulations to ensure security and compliance measures are maintained.
