After BTCTurk, one of Turkey's largest cryptocurrency exchanges, lost some of its funds in a hacking attack, Binance CEO Richard Teng said:
“Binance is assisting BtcTurk with investigations and has frozen more than $5.3 million of stolen funds so far.
Our investigation and security teams work around the clock as part of our preventative efforts to protect the ecosystem from malicious actors. “We will provide further updates on the matter.”
BTCTurk confirmed in its message to its users a few hours ago that it had been subjected to a hacking attack.
However, the exchange announced that the funds stolen by the hacker included only assets held in hot wallets and that a total of 10 cryptocurrencies were affected by the hacking incident.
However, no official statement has yet been released regarding the size of the funds stolen from the platform.
