Decentralized derivatives exchange protocol dYdX faced a chain halt during a planned upgrade.
dYdX Experiences Chain Outage During Planned Upgrade; Engineers Examine
According to the incident report, the outage began at 9:50 a.m. and block production stopped shortly thereafter. dYdX engineers are currently conducting debugging efforts to identify and address the root cause of the issue.
This event marks the first significant outage for the protocol since the release of dYdX version 4 and the standalone Cosmos blockchain on the mainnet in October.
The dYdX Chain was scheduled to undergo a v4.0.0 protocol upgrade on the day of the event, potentially resulting in disruptions in functionality. While the planned maintenance was completed successfully at 06:30, the problem of the chain stopping occurred only 20 minutes later.
In a status update at 12:21 p.m., dYdX stated that investigations into the issue are ongoing and network validators are expected to reconvene at 18:00.
Despite the ongoing outage, there appears to be no significant impact on the price of the dYdX token, which is up over 4% in the last 24 hours.
