Shiba Inu (SHIB) has announced the launch of Shibarium, a layer-2 blockchain network running on Ethereum and using SHIB tokens as fees.
Shibarium is part of Shiba Inu's vision to become more than just a memecoin and offer more benefits to its tokens. The network will support four tokens: SHIB, LEASH, BONE and TREAT.
According to a representative from Shiba Inu, Shibarium has created more than 21 million wallets in the testnet phase, indicating a high level of interest and demand from the community.
Shiba Inu's lead developer, who goes by the nickname Shytoshi Kusama, said that Shibarium is based on the principles of community and decentralization that are essential for any blockchain project. He added that Shibarium aims to provide a unique and innovative experience for users who want to explore the world of ideas, goods, services and opportunities in the blockchain space.
