Fetch.ai (FET), a blockchain-based artificial intelligence platform, announced that its Discord server was hacked by a malicious person on Saturday, August 12, 2023.
According to a tweet from the official Fetch.ai account, the hacker gained unauthorized access to the server at 06:00 CET via an administrator account with the username “Atari_buzz1kLL”. The hacker then posted messages claiming to offer a Fetch token airdrop, which is a scam attempt to trap innocent users.
The Fetch.ai team has warned its community not to interact with any posts or direct messages on Discord that claim to be from Fetch.ai or its team.
The team also noted that no Fetch cryptocurrency airdrops are currently taking place and users should be alert to phishing or scam attempts.
The team is currently working to regain control of the server and will issue a new statement once the issue is resolved. Meanwhile, users can follow the official Fetch.ai Twitter account for updates and information.
