After the SEC filed a lawsuit against Binance and CZ, it asked the court to temporarily freeze the assets of Binance US.
The request came after the SEC sued Binance and its founder CZ on Monday, accusing it of violating US federal securities laws and diverting client funds for personal use.
According to the news of Coingraph, which is based on local sources, the US court accepted the request of the SEC and froze the assets of Binance US.
However, the fact that it is night time in the USA may also mean that this claim does not fully reflect the truth.
Still, the market is currently pricing this news bearishly.

Yesterday evening, Binance CEO CZ responded to this request from the SEC as follows:
"The SEC has requested the freezing of Binance's assets in the United States, and if the Court approves this request, this decision will only affect Binance US, not Binance. The funds are safe."
Clarification: this could only affects https://t.co/hSHrrlF7o7, IF granted by the court.
It does NOT affect https://t.co/9rMMAmc1G9. Funds are #SAFU https://t.co/Xedzc0tyuM
