With the halving event of Litecoin (LTC) on August 2, there will be a historic moment in the cryptocurrency market.
According to the predictions, the LTC halving event will take place on Thursday, August 2 at 21:26 Turkish time.
On the Litecoin blockchain, the block halving event occurs every 4 years. Litecoin's initial block reward was 50 LTC. The current Litecoin block reward is 12.5 LTC and after the halving the block reward will be 6.25 LTC.
The halving will end in approximately 2142.
Santiment: “Wallets Aggressively Accumulating Litecoins”
According to Santiment analysts, crypto investors are accumulating coins in LTC. According to Santiment, LTC wallets worth between $9,500 and $950,000 are aggressively collecting tokens.
Santiment data revealed that these medium-sized cryptocurrency investors, called “dolphin” and “shark” investors, have accumulated 205,400 Litecoins since June 14.
After Litecoin, the closest halving event among cryptocurrencies using the Proof of Work consensus mechanism will be in Bitcoin Cash on March 23, 2024. In addition, the Bitcoin halving is expected to occur on May 24, 2024.
